Members Speak Out at LeMieux Rally

Local 1991 members Omayra Hernandez, RN, and Roberto Blanco, RN, attended a protest outside Senator George LeMieux's district office on Wednesday, July 7th, to speak out against the Senator's recent vote against Federal Medical Assistant Percentages, which means that Jackson Health System may not receive $50 million earmarked by the Florida Legislature.

LeMieux also voted against extended unemployment and Cobra benefits to unemployed workers.

Hernandez and Blanco joined other workers from Miami-Dade County to protest LeMieux's actions that will have devastating affects on Jackson and the unemployed.
