SEIU Local 1991 will once again be traveling to Tallahassee where we will lobby for healthcare funding, advocate for legislation that will help our patients and fight off damaging bills.
This year’s trip is April 15 and 16, 2015. Register by March 30 to participate!
Last year, more than 100 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals participated in Nurse Lobby Day and together formed a powerful voice in the legislative process.
Our union will pay travel expenses for our members to attend the two-day lobbying blitz, where we will attend legislative sessions, participate in Town Hall meetings and hold a press conference in the Capitol Building.
What are we fighting for?
This year Local 1991 is advocating for a range of issues close to members’ hearts.
They include a patient safe handling bill, a staffing ratios bill, fully implementing the Affordable Care Act, adequate funding for Jackson and preserving pensions.
Members who would like to attend must be COPE contributors.
